Gyeonggi Marine Safety Experience Center ready to welcome visitors!

Reservations for small family experience groups resume, various SNS events planned

□ Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority announced on the 14th that it has completed preparations to welcome visitors to the New Year of the Im-in at the Gyeonggi Maritime Safety Experience Center, which it is operating under contract.

❍ The Gyeonggi Maritime Safety Experience Center, built on Daebudo Island in Ansan City, Gyeonggi Province as a national project under the Sewol Ferry Special Act, temporarily suspended reservations through the website as face-to-face educational activities became difficult due to the spread of COVID-19, and operated mainly with pre-reserved group education and non-face-to-face/visit education.

❍ According to the construction company, in January 2022, in line with the increase in vaccination rates and the demand for maritime safety education, individual reservations through the website were resumed, and in order to comply with government quarantine guidelines and prevent infectious diseases among participants, the number of experience courses will be reduced to five.

❍ Visitors must sanitize their hands, wear a mask, have their temperature checked, and fill out an electronic entry list before entering. We plan to operate in strict compliance with quarantine guidelines to prevent COVID-19, such as maintaining a distance of at least 1 meter between visitors and regularly disinfecting major contact surfaces.

❍ Non-face-to-face and visiting education programs such as ▲'Non-face-to-face real-time maritime safety education' using ZOOM, a real-time communication education program for parents and children who feel burdened by visiting the facility ▲'Maritime survival online course' that can be easily taken through Gyeonggi-do lifelong learning portal Knowledge (GSEEK) ▲'Visiting classroom', a practical experiential education program using teaching aids, will also continue to be operated.

❍ Meanwhile, Gyeonggi Maritime Safety Experience Center is making various attempts to respond to changing media trends by producing and uploading various videos, such as maritime safety education, entertainment, and employee vlogs, through YouTube and Instagram.

❍ To celebrate the new year, we have also prepared an active communication event. Those who subscribe to and verify the official YouTube channel "Gyeonggi Maritime Safety Experience Center" will be entered into a raffle to win a variety of prizes, including a "Maritime Safety Storybook" and a "Character Mug."
